Chickpeas, also known as Leblebi in Turkish and Nokhodchi in Persian, are a popular snack made from raw chickpea seeds. The moisture level of our double roasted chickpeas ranges between 5-7%, which directly affects their texture and taste. Therefore, controlling moisture is crucial for quality.
Additionally, these chickpeas primarily come from the northwestern provinces of Iran, specifically East Azerbaijan and West Azerbaijan, in cities such as Mamaqan. Since the harvest season occurs from late September to mid-October, we strongly recommend placing your order early—ideally during the first weeks of September—to ensure you receive the freshest new crop.
Export Markets and Uses
We export different varieties of chickpeas to countries including Russia, India, Pakistan, and several European nations like Switzerland and Poland. Moreover, many companies and producers use chickpeas for confectionery, direct consumption in nut mixes, and as fillings in chocolates. In addition, these versatile uses make chickpeas highly sought after worldwide.
Grades and Packaging
Iran Dried Fruit Company acts as a wholesaler, manufacturer, and exporter of chickpeas. We supply chickpeas in the following grades, which differ mainly in size:

We pack our chickpeas in 10 kg cartons; however, we can also arrange alternative packaging according to customer requests.
Ordering and Shipping Details
Our minimum order quantity ranges from 3 to 5 tons, depending on the transportation method chosen by the customer. For shipping, chickpeas can be loaded into both 20 ft. and 40 ft. containers, either dry or refrigerated.
For long distances and warm climates, we strongly recommend using refrigerated containers to ensure your cargo stays fresh and intact throughout transit. In fact, this method helps maintain quality better than dry shipping.
The loading capacities are as follows:

Storage and Shelf Life
Chickpeas have a shelf life of one year from the production date. To maintain optimal quality, store chickpeas in a refrigerator whenever possible. Otherwise, keep them in a cool room below 15°C with good air ventilation, free from dust, and away from direct sunlight.

Production time varies depending on order size and typically ranges between 15 to 25 working days.
